What is Included in Insurance Policy Coverage?

In case of complications after surgery, the insurance covers the costs of revision surgery, diagnostic examinations, and necessary medications.

  • Plane Ticket Guarantee
If you return to your home country and need to travel back to Turkey due to a complication, the cost of an economy class flight ticket is covered.

  • Treatment in Patient’s Home Country Guarantee
If a complication occurs after returning home but treatment does not necessarily require traveling to Turkey, the costs of medical treatment in your own country are included.

  • Accommodation Guarantee
In case of post-surgery complications, the insurance covers the cost of your accommodation (excluding hospital stay) within the policy limits.

In addition to these guarantees, the insurance company also provides:

  • Legal Protection Coverage – If legal consultancy is required during your stay in Turkey, the costs are covered.

  • Passport Assistance – If your passport is lost or stolen, renewal procedures and necessary documentation are included in the coverage.

💰 The Health Tourism Insurance Policy for limb lengthening patients is priced at $500.
📑 The exemptions and maximum limits of this policy are presented in detail in the table below.

Table

According to the insurance policy, the patient is responsible for expenses up to the exemption limit, while any amount exceeding this limit is covered by the insurance company.

For example, let’s assume you experienced a complication after returning to your country, but local doctors could not treat it, requiring you to come back to Turkey. If your 1-week accommodation cost was 1200 TL, which is below the exemption limit (once converted), the patient would be responsible for covering this expense.

However, if the expenses fall between the exemption and the maximum limit, the first 200 Euros would be paid by the patient, and the remaining balance would be covered by the insurance company.

What is Included in Insurance Policy Coverage?

The following costs are not included in the insurance coverage and must be covered by the patient:

  • Medicines unrelated to limb lengthening surgery, rehabilitation, and physical therapy sessions that may be required after the operation. Treatments such as Stem Cell Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Fractional Laser Treatment, and Electrotherapy are considered additional treatments and are therefore excluded from the policy. (Note: If the patient has purchased our accommodation package, hydrotherapy is covered as one of our additional services. For more details, please see our Accommodation Package page.)

  • Supportive care related to surgery, such as IV drips, medications regulating blood sugar or blood pressure, and additional examinations not directly linked to the surgery.

  • If, according to a medical report, the patient’s rest in accommodation is deemed optional, the related accommodation expenses.

  • The accommodation expenses of a companion during the hospital stay, if applicable.

When determining whether a complication is covered by the insurance, all necessary documents must be submitted by the patient to the insurance company. The company then has 10 days to evaluate and decide if the expenses will be covered.
